Alright, alright, let me tell ya ’bout this… this “white lotus tour” thing. I ain’t never been on no fancy tour, ya know? But from what I hear, it’s somethin’ special.
So, this here “White Lotus,” it ain’t a flower, no sirree. It’s some kinda TV show, they tell me. Filmed all over the place, real pretty places too. Italy, Thailand… places I only seen on them picture postcards.
Italy, huh? That’s where them fancy folks go.
They say on this tour, you get to see the same stuff they showed on TV. Like, in Italy, they went to this place called Sicily. Yeah, Sicily. Sounds like somethin’ you’d eat, don’t it? But it’s a place, with beaches and old buildings and all that. Palermo, Cefalù, Taormina… Don’t ask me to spell ’em, I just heard the names.
And there’s this villa, Villa Tasca, they talk about. Big ol’ house, I reckon. “Historic,” they call it. Means it’s been around a long time, I guess. Probably got ghosts, ha! Just kiddin’!
- They got gelato there, in Italy. That’s like fancy ice cream. I bet it’s good.
- And beaches! Lots of beaches. Wish I could stick my toes in that sand, feel the sun on my face. But this old body ain’t made for travelin’ no more.
Then there’s Thailand. Hotter than a pepper sprout, I bet. They filmed this “White Lotus” show there too, in a place called Koh Samui. Sounds fancy, huh? And Phuket… and Bangkok. Big cities, I reckon. More people than I ever seen in my whole life, probably.
They got these resorts there, fancy hotels where rich folks stay. Four Seasons, they call ’em. Sounds expensive. You probably gotta wear a tie and shine your shoes just to walk in the door. Not my kinda place, I tell ya.
But this tour, it takes you to all these places. You get to see what them actors saw, walk where they walked. Must be somethin’ special, all them rich folks watchin’ that show and then wantin’ to go see the places for themselves. They got movie stars in it too, they say. Jennifer somethin’-or-other, and that girl from that other show… Aubrey, I think her name is.
Me, I’m happy just sittin’ on my porch, watchin’ the birds.
But if I was younger, and had a bit more pep in my step, maybe I’d go on one of them tours. See the world a bit. Eat some of that gelato. Stick my toes in the sand.
But for now, I’ll just listen to the stories, look at the pictures. It’s enough for an old lady like me. This “white lotus tour” thing, it sounds like a dream. A fancy dream, for fancy folks. But hey, dreamin’ don’t cost nothin’, right?
Anyway, that’s all I know ’bout it. Heard it from the neighbors, read a bit in the paper. Sounded like somethin’ worth talkin’ about, so there ya go. Now, you go on and enjoy your day, ya hear? And don’t forget to eat your vegetables!
