Alright, let’s talk about this Fallout 76 thing. My grandkids keep yappin’ about it, so I figured, why not? Seems like a whole lotta fuss over nothin’, but here we go.
So, first thing’s first, they got this thing called “Atomic Shop.” Sounds fancy, right? Well, it ain’t. It’s just a place where they sell ya stuff, like clothes and whatnots. But they give away free stuff too, sometimes. They call it “Mystery Item.” Real mysterious, huh? It’s just a little somethin’ they give ya every few days. Don’t get too excited, though, it ain’t usually nothin’ special.
Then there’s these “quests.” My grandkid says it’s like chores, but in a game. Sounds about right. One of ’em is called “Seeker of Mysteries.” Sounds spooky, but it ain’t. You gotta listen to some tape thingy, then use a computer. They call it a “Cryptos Terminal.” Landsakes, these youngsters and their fancy words. Anyway, you do that, and you get somethin’ or other. It’s part of a bigger story, somethin’ about a “Mistress of Mystery.” Sounds like one of them soap operas my daughter watches.
- First, you listen to the tape.
- Then, you use the computer thingy.
- Then, you get somethin’. Maybe.
Now, about these quests… My grandkid says there’s a whole bunch of ‘em, and you can do ‘em in any order you want. Ain’t no right or wrong way, he says. Sounds like life, if you ask me. Just gotta do what you gotta do, when you gotta do it.
Another one is called “Trade Secrets.” Sounds sneaky, right? Well, it kinda is. You gotta find stuff, and then do stuff, and then you get somethin’ good. My grandkid says it’s for “valuable rewards.” Sounds like money to me. But who knows with these games?
This “Seeker of Mysteries” quest, it’s part of a bigger story, like I said. There’s eight of ‘em, and this one’s number seven. My grandkid says you can loot stuff along the way. Lootin’… that sounds like somethin’ my no-good nephew would do. But hey, if the game tells ya to do it, I guess it’s alright.
And then there’s this “hacking” thing. Sounds like somethin’ them city folks do. But in this game, it’s just… well, I don’t rightly know what it is. My grandkid tried to explain it, but it sounded like a whole lotta mumbo jumbo. Somethin’ about computers and codes and whatnot. Sounds complicated, if you ask me.
Honestly, this whole Fallout 76 thing sounds like a lot of work. Runnin’ around, doin’ chores, listenin’ to tapes, hackin’ computers… It ain’t like the old days, when you just went outside and played. But I guess it keeps the youngsters busy. And who knows, maybe it’s even fun. I wouldn’t know, I’m too busy tryin’ to figure out how to use this darn microwave.
So, that’s my take on Fallout 76. It’s a game about doin’ stuff, findin’ stuff, and maybe even learnin’ stuff. And if you’re lucky, you might even get some valuable rewards. Or maybe just a free “Mystery Item.” Who knows? It’s a mystery.
But I tell you what, it sure sounds complicated. Give me a good book and a cup of tea any day. At least I can understand that.
