See, they say it’s in their blood, like them huntin’ dogs chasin’ after rabbits. Somethin’ ’bout bein’ a man, gotta go out and get what they want. Makes ’em feel strong, I guess. Like they accomplished somethin’ big.
- They wanna feel like they earned ya, see? Not just handed over on a silver platter.
- Makes ’em feel important, like they won a prize.
The Movies and Them Shows, They Don’t Help None
And then ya got them movies and TV shows, always makin’ it seem like the fella gotta chase the gal. Makes it all romantic and whatnot. So these fellas, they think that’s how it’s supposed to be. They get it in their heads that if they ain’t chasin’, they ain’t doin’ it right. Foolishness, if you ask me.
That Brain Juice, They Call it Dopamine
Now, them smarty-pants scientists, they got a name for it. Somethin’ called dopamine. Says it’s this stuff in your brain that makes you feel good when you get somethin’ you want. Like a little reward. So when a fella’s chasin’ ya, he’s gettin’ that little dopamine rush every time you give him a little bit of attention. A text, a smile, whatever. Keeps ’em comin’ back for more, like a moth to a flame.
It’s All a Game to Them, Sometimes
Sometimes, I think it’s just a game to them. They like the excitement, the thrill of the chase. Don’t really care about catchin’ ya, just like the runnin’ around part. Like them little boys playin’ tag, just wanna be “it.” And once they catch ya, well, they might just lose interest. Happens all the time, I tell ya.
But What if He Says He Likes the Chase?
Now, if a fella comes right out and tells ya he likes the chase? Well, that might mean he ain’t all that serious about ya. Could be he just likes the flirty part, the gettin’-to-know-ya part. Might not be lookin’ for nothin’ long-term. Or, he could just be playin’ hard to get himself, tryin’ to see if you’re really interested. Men, they can be complicated creatures, that’s for sure.
Mixed Signals? Run for the Hills!
And if he’s sendin’ you them mixed signals, one minute hot, the next minute cold? Girl, you better run for the hills! That ain’t nothin’ but trouble. Means he can’t make up his mind, don’t know what he wants. You deserve better than that, someone who knows what they want and ain’t afraid to go after it, not just playin’ games.
Some Just Like the Competition
Some of ’em, they just like the competition. Makes ’em feel like they won somethin’ if they gotta work for it. Boosts their ego, you know? Makes ’em feel like they’re the best, the top dog. But a good fella, a real man, he ain’t gonna need to chase ya to feel good about himself.
So, What’s a Girl to Do?
Well, I tell ya, you gotta be smart. Don’t let ’em play ya. If you’re interested, let ’em know. But don’t make it too easy. And if they ain’t treatin’ you right, if they’re just stringin’ you along, then you gotta move on. There’s plenty of fish in the sea, as they say. You don’t need to waste your time on some fella who just wants to chase tail and ain’t lookin’ for nothin’ real.

At the end of the day, it’s all a bunch of hooey, if you ask me. If a fella likes ya, he likes ya. If he don’t, he don’t. All this chasin’ business, it’s just a bunch of drama. Find yourself a good man who treats you with respect, and don’t worry about all the rest. That’s my advice, anyway.
