Alright, let me tell ya about these woven handbags, you know, the kind them city gals like to carry around.

Well, from what I gather, it’s like this. They take these long, stringy things, could be plastic, could be leather, could be somethin’ else, and they weave ’em together. Like makin’ a basket, but fancier. I heard tell there’s some that ain’t woven, just a bunch of short little pieces all tangled up, but those ain’t the real deal, if you ask me. The woven ones, them’s the strong ones. They use all sorts of stuff to make ’em, like that… poly- somethin’ or other plastic stuff, real strong and bendy it is.

Now, I ain’t never bought one myself, but I hear tell you can find ’em all over. Them fancy stores in the city, Macy’s and such, they got ’em. And if you don’t wanna go all the way there, you can just order ’em online, they’ll even ship ’em to ya for free, both ways sometimes! Ain’t that somethin’? But if you want somethin’ real special, you gotta look for them handmade ones. There’s folks out there makin’ ’em with their own two hands, leather ones, all sorts of pretty designs. You can find them at them craft fairs, or maybe on the internet too, on them sites where folks sell their own stuff.
How much do they cost?
Well, that depends, don’t it? Like anything else. You can get a cheap one for a few dollars, or you can spend a whole heap of money on one of them designer bags. I seen some for twenty dollars, some for fifty, and some for hundreds! Lordy, who’d spend that much on a bag? But I guess some folks got more money than sense. You got your Donna Karan ones, your Coach ones, all them fancy names. They got buckles, they got tassels, they got flowers sewed on ’em, you name it. And then you got your cheaper ones, just plain woven bags, but they do the job just the same, holdin’ your stuff.
- Cheap ones: Them’s good for everyday use, takin’ to the store or what not.
- Fancy ones: Them’s for showin’ off, goin’ to parties and such.
Why would you want one?
Well, I reckon they’re handy. You gotta carry your stuff somehow, right? Your wallet, your keys, your phone, all that junk. And a woven bag, it’s sturdy, it’ll hold up. And they look nice too, some of ’em. All them different colors and patterns. You can find one to match any outfit, I guess. They got shoulder bags, they got them little cross-body ones, they got big ol’ bucket bags, somethin’ for everyone.

Seems like everyone’s sellin’ ‘em these days. You got Dillard’s, places like that. And then there are these special shops, only sell purses and such. Urban Expressions, I heard of that one. They got all sorts, and they don’t use no real animal fur, which is good, I reckon. And if you can’t find what you want in the stores, there’s always the internet, Amazon and such, thousands of ’em. Big ones, small ones, every color under the sun. They even got vegan leather ones now, for them folks who don’t like to use animal products.
So, what’s the bottom line?
Well, if you need a bag, and you want somethin’ sturdy and maybe a little bit stylish, a woven handbag might be just the ticket. Just don’t go spendin’ your life savings on one, alright? There’s plenty of good ones out there that won’t break the bank.
And remember, it don’t matter if it costs a lot or a little, long as it holds your stuff and makes you happy, that’s all that matters.
