Well, let me tell you, these days everyone’s talkin’ ’bout something called self care sets. What is self care? Sounds fancy, but it ain’t rocket science. It’s just takin’ care of yourself, like you’re supposed to! And these sets, they got all sorts of things in ’em to help ya do just that.

Now, I seen all kinds of these self care sets. Some got smelly stuff, lotions and oils. Make ya smell like a flower or some fruit. My neighbor, she got one, smelled like a whole darn garden. They say it helps ya relax. Smells good, I gotta admit.

They got these bath bombs too. You throw ’em in the tub, and they fizz up, make the water all colored. Like a rainbow in your bathtub! I don’t know, seems like a waste of good water to me. But my grandkids, they love it. Says it makes bath time fun, they do.
Why you need it, they say
They say this self care is good for ya. Helps ya when you’re feelin’ down, or tired, or just plain ol’ grumpy. Life gets tough sometimes, you know? Work, kids, bills… it all piles up. So, they say, takin’ a little time for yourself, doin’ somethin’ nice, it helps. Like a little treat for your soul, they call it.
And these self care sets, they make it easy, they say. Everything’s right there in a box. You don’t gotta go runnin’ around lookin’ for things. Just open it up, and bam, instant relaxation, they say.
Different kinds of self care
Now, this self care, it ain’t just about smelly lotions and bath bombs. Oh no, there’s more to it. They say there’s different kinds. Like, takin’ care of your mind. Readin’ a book, maybe. Or just sittin’ quiet, thinkin’. They call it “mental” self care. Sounds important, I guess.

Then there’s takin’ care of your body. Eatin’ good food, not too much junk. Movin’ around, walkin’, gardenin’. That’s “physical” self care, they call it. Keeps you strong, they say. Makes sense. You don’t take care of your body, where you gonna live?
Bein’ with people, that’s self care too
And get this, they say even just bein’ with people you like, that’s self care too. “Social” self care, they call it. Talkin’, laughin’, just enjoyin’ company. Like sittin’ on the porch with your friends, sippin’ tea. Or havin’ a big family dinner, everyone talkin’ over each other. That’s good for the soul, I know that much.

So, this self care, it’s really just about bein’ good to yourself. Mind, body, and soul, they say. These self care sets, they can help, I suppose. But you don’t need fancy things to take care of yourself. A little bit of time, a little bit of thought, that’s all it takes, really.
Don’t forget yourself, that’s the important thing
You know, in my day, we didn’t have all these fancy self care sets. We just did what we had to do. But I reckon the idea’s the same. Don’t get so busy takin’ care of everyone else that you forget about yourself. That’s the important thing.
So, if you wanna get one of these self care sets, go ahead. If it makes you feel good, that’s all that matters. But remember, you don’t need a fancy box to take care of yourself. Just be good to yourself, that’s the best self care there is.
These self care sets, they’re like a little reminder, I guess. A reminder to slow down, take a breath, and just be. And that’s somethin’ we could all use a little more of, I reckon. Don’t you think?
