Okay, here’s my story about how I finally figured out how to put lotion on my own back:
So, I’ve always had this problem. You know, you get out of the shower, you dry off, and then you realize your back is dry as hell. It’s like, how am I supposed to reach back there? I’m not exactly a contortionist.
I tried all sorts of crazy things. For a while, I’d try to reach my right arm across my chest, grab my right elbow, and then use that leverage to somehow touch my back with my right hand. Let me tell you, it wasn’t pretty. And it definitely didn’t work very well. I’d end up with lotion all over my arm and barely any on my back.
Then, I got this brilliant idea to use an old sock. Yeah, you heard that right. I’d put lotion on the sock, throw one end over my shoulder, and then grab the other end to kind of rub it on my back. It was like some weird back-scratching dance. It worked a little better, but it still wasn’t great. Plus, it just felt kind of gross.
I even tried using my forearms. I’d squeeze a bunch of lotion onto the tops of both forearms, and then try to reach around and rub it on. This was okay if I could comfortably get my forearms back there, but honestly, most of the time it was a struggle.
Finally, I broke down and bought one of those long-handled lotion applicators. And you know what? It’s a game-changer. Seriously. It’s this simple little thing, but it makes all the difference.
- I just put some lotion on the applicator pad.
- Then reach back with the long handle.
- And just rub it all over my back.
It’s so easy! No more contorting myself into weird positions, no more using dirty socks, just smooth, moisturized skin. I can finally reach every spot on my back without any trouble. It’s like a whole new world has opened up to me.
If you’re like me and you’ve been struggling with this whole back-lotion situation, do yourself a favor and get one of these applicators. You won’t regret it. It’s such a simple solution, but it makes a huge difference. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go enjoy my perfectly moisturized back.
