Well, hello there, everyone! Today, I wanna yak a bit about somethin’ I saw in the market the other day – them high heel boots, the ones they call 8-inch high heel boots. My goodness, they were somethin’ else!
Now, I’m an old woman, seen a lot of things in my days. But these boots, they were somethin’ new. They were taller than my darn corn stalks! I swear, a young gal could probably see clear over the whole town standin’ in them things. Makes me wonder how anyone walks in ‘em.
I remember when I was a young’un, we wore sturdy shoes, good for workin’ in the fields. Didn’t have none of this fancy stuff. But times change, I guess. Young folks these days, they like to dress up, look pretty. And I reckon these boots, they sure do make a statement.
- Makes you taller, I guess.
- Makes your legs look longer, maybe?
- Probably makes a click-clack sound when you walk, fancy like.
I saw some other boots too, shorter ones. The lady at the store said they were called 5.5-inch heels. Said she puts somethin’ soft inside ‘em, like a pillow, to make ‘em comfy. Smart, I thought. Can’t be walkin’ around all day feelin’ like you got rocks in your shoes. I heard some young girl bought killer heels when she was 15. Can you believe that? At 15 I was workin in the fields, no time for fancy shoes like those stilettos.
These 8-inch boots, though, they ain’t just heels, they’re boots! Come up high, almost to the knee. Some had buckles, some had laces, some had zippers. All sorts of colors too. Black ones, red ones, even shiny silver ones! Lordy, they were somethin’. Reminds me of some Halloween shoes I saw once.
I heard some folks say these boots make you look glamorous, all sophisticated like. Maybe so. But I tell you what, they don’t look like somethin’ you’d wear to feed the chickens or milk the cows. These are city boots, for fancy places. Not for everyday work here on the farm. Though I saw a few online that were sturdy looking, but those heels… just not practical for us country folk.
The store lady, she told me they sell all kinds of heels, from little kitten heels to these sky-high ones. Said some famous designers make ‘em, Christian somethin’ or other. I never heard of him, but I guess he knows a thing or two about shoes. There are all sorts of places you can buy those shoes too, from the big stores to the little online shops, she said you can find them at Night Out Heels store or some other places like that.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ these boots are bad. They just ain’t for me. I’m too old for high heels. My feet hurt just thinkin’ about it. But if you’re young and you like to dress up, I guess they could be fun. Just be careful walkin’ in ‘em! Wouldn’t want you tumblin’ over and breakin’ a leg. I saw a pair of 8 inch heels online made with fancy fabrics and they looked real pretty, but again… not for me. But hey, the young people sure do like all those new trends.
So, there you have it. My thoughts on them 8-inch high heel boots. They’re tall, they’re fancy, and they’re definitely not for plantin’ potatoes. But hey, to each their own, I always say. If they make you happy, then go ahead and wear ‘em. Just watch your step!
I’m just gonna stick to my comfy ol’ shoes, though. They might not be pretty, but they sure do get me where I need to go, and that’s all that matters to me. And they definitely won’t make me fall over like those killer heel boots might! After all, there’s work to be done, and I can’t be doin’ it in some fancy high heels.
Anyway, I gotta go now. Got chores to do. You all have a good day, and stay safe out there!
