Okay, so I’ve been trying out this whole “natural deodorant” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I wanted to switch to something more natural for a while now, you know? Fewer chemicals and all that good stuff. So, I did some digging and decided to make my own amber deodorant.
First, I looked up a bunch of recipes online. I found out that there are some brands like “Salt & Stone Natural Deodorant” is a good product for athletes. And there are some other products like “Native Deodorant” is effective and moisturizing, with only 14 natural ingredients, or “Schmidt’s Naturals Deodorant” is a vegan. I found these information from the web, but I decided to make one by myself.
Then, I gathered all the ingredients. This was a bit of a scavenger hunt, to be honest. I needed things like baking soda, essential oils, and some other stuff I’d never heard of before.
- Baking soda– this is the main thing that fights the stink.
- Arrowroot powder– supposed to help with moisture.
- Coconut oil– makes it all smooth and easy to apply.
- Essential oils– I went with amber, ’cause it sounded fancy and smells amazing.
After I had everything, I started mixing. I melted the coconut oil first, then stirred in the baking soda and arrowroot powder. It took a while to get it all mixed in properly, without any lumps.
Once it was all smooth, I added a few drops of the amber essential oil. I didn’t want to overdo it, but I also wanted it to actually smell like something, you know?
Then came the hard part – waiting. I poured the mixture into an old deodorant container I had cleaned out, and then I had to let it sit and harden. It felt like forever, but it probably took a couple of hours.
Finally, it was ready! I tried it out, and at first, I was pretty impressed. It went on smooth, and the amber scent was subtle but nice.
The Real Test
I wore it throughout the day, doing my usual stuff. And you know what? It actually worked! I didn’t smell like a locker room by the afternoon, which was a pleasant surprise. It really worked for all-day wear!
But, I did notice that I had to be a bit more mindful about applying it. With regular deodorant, I’d just swipe it on and forget about it. With this stuff, I had to make sure I got good coverage. Oh, and I started using natural soap too, just to keep the whole “natural” thing going. Some people online said it helps.
So, overall, I’m pretty happy with my homemade amber deodorant. It took some effort to make, but it’s cool knowing exactly what’s in it. And it actually works, which is the most important thing, right? I might experiment with different essential oils in the future, but for now, amber is my go-to. It’s definitely a thumbs-up from me!
