Okay, so, I’ve been noticing these little lines around my eyes lately. It’s like, one day I looked in the mirror and bam, there they were. Definitely not a fan. So I decided to try making my own anti-wrinkle eye oil. Seemed like a fun little project, and hey, if it works, even better, right?
First things first, I had to gather some supplies. I already had some basic essential oils at home, because I’m into that kind of stuff. I made sure I had some sweet almond oil, which is supposed to be good for your skin. I also got some rosehip oil, it was a little pricey but I read that it’s good for fine lines. I also need a container for the oil, I used an old eye cream jar and cleaned it thoroughly with soapy water.
I mixed the oils in a small bowl. I did about two tablespoons of the almond oil, and then just a few drops of the rosehip oil, and I put in one drop of Vitamin E oil just because I had it. I stirred it all up with a toothpick. Pretty scientific, I know.
- Mix the oils: I used about 2 tablespoons of sweet almond oil as a base.
- Add the active ingredients: I added a few drops of rosehip oil.
- Stir it up: I used a toothpick to thoroughly mix everything together.
Then, I carefully poured the mixture into my little container. I didn’t want to spill it everywhere, you know? I used a dropper to transfer it into the container, it was the perfect tool for this.
Applying the Eye Oil
Now, for the application. I used the dropper that came with the rosehip oil to put a tiny drop on my fingertip. Then I gently patted it under my eyes. I tried not to rub, because I heard that’s bad for the delicate skin around your eyes. I did this every night before bed, after washing my face.
Honestly, it felt pretty good. The oil was light and absorbed pretty quickly. My skin felt moisturized, at least. I’ve been using it for about two weeks now, and I think I see a little difference. Maybe. It’s hard to tell. The lines might be a bit softer? Or maybe it’s just wishful thinking.
Anyway, even if it’s not a miracle cure, it’s still a nice little addition to my nightly routine. It’s kind of relaxing to take that extra minute to pamper myself. And who knows, maybe with continued use, those pesky lines will actually start to fade. Fingers crossed!
Besides, I also do some other healthy things to reduce wrinkles, like drink plenty of water and get enough sleep. I’ve been trying to wear sunscreen more often, too. I will keep using this oil, at least finish the container and see how it works.
