So, I’ve been messing around with my phone’s home screen lately, trying to give it a makeover. I stumbled upon this “aesthetic brown icons” idea and thought, “Why not?” Brown’s a pretty chill color, right? Figured it might give my phone a more relaxed vibe.
First things first, I had to gather my tools. I realized I needed a few apps to get this done. For iPhone, there’s this app called “Shortcuts.” Seemed like it was the go-to for customizing icons. And if you’re on Android, I think it’s pretty similar in terms of functionality. Then there’s another one called “Next Icon”. Heard it was super easy for swapping out icons.
Finding the Icons
- I started browsing around for some brown-themed icon packs. There’s a bunch out there, and I mean a BUNCH. Some are free, some you gotta pay for. I found a few sets I liked, mostly with different shades of brown and some with, like, beige and cream accents. Pretty neat.
The Process (iPhone)
This is where the “Shortcuts” app came in handy. Here’s what I did:
- Opened up “Shortcuts” and created a new shortcut.
- Chose the “Open App” action and then picked the app I wanted to customize.
- Tapped those little slider icons in the upper right corner, which I guess are the settings.
- Changed the title of the shortcut to match the app.
- Then I chose the new brown icon I had downloaded.
- Finally, I hit “Add to Home Screen” and bam! New icon, who dis?
I repeated this for every single app I wanted to change. Took a bit of time, ngl, but it was kinda satisfying seeing it all come together.
Widgets
Thought I’d go the extra mile and add some widgets, you know, for the full aesthetic experience. I held down on my home screen until the apps started jiggling, then tapped that little “+” sign in the corner. Found some widgets that matched the brown theme – a clock, a calendar, even a little quote thingy. Made the whole thing look even more put-together.
The “Next Icon” Way (Easier)
- Downloaded “Next Icon.”
- Browsed through their themes – they had a few brown ones that looked pretty good.
- Picked one I liked, installed it.
- It then asks you to go to “加速器 & device management” and install a profile.
Final Thoughts
Honestly, it was a fun little project. My phone definitely looks a lot different now, and I’m digging the brown theme. It’s kinda calming, you know? If you’re bored with your phone’s look, I’d say give it a shot. It’s a nice way to personalize your device and make it feel more… you. Just be prepared to spend a bit of time on it, especially if you’re going the manual route with Shortcuts.
