Well, let me tell ya, them 60s nails, they were somethin’ else! Folks back then, they really liked to play around with their nails. I remember seein’ all sorts of colors, ya know? Not like today, where anything goes. Back then, it was, uh… how do I say it? More… particular.
Lots of white, yeah, lots and lots of white. And that nude color, like, the color of your skin, almost. And then those pastels, but not the bright ones, the kinda soft, frosted ones. Like, imagine a cake, but not a shiny, fancy cake, a more… plain cake, ya know? That’s the kinda colors they used on them 1960s nails.
- White
- Nude
- Frosted Pastel
Now, some folks, they got real fancy. They’d put little flowers on their nails, or stripes, or even them… whatchamacallits… swirls! Yeah, swirls! I seen some with gold, too. Not like real gold, mind you, but that shiny gold stuff. And black sometimes, mixed with the gold, looked kinda sharp, I gotta say. They called it 60s nail art, I think. Sounded real fancy to me back then.
I heard tell that some folks even stuck little fake jewels on ’em, but I ain’t never seen that myself. Mostly, it was just colors and simple designs. But it was always neat, ya know? Made a gal feel special, like she put in some effort. Not like today, where everyone just slaps on whatever they got laying around. Back then, nails were important!
Oh, and them shapes! They weren’t all them pointy, square things like you see now. They was rounder, softer. Like almonds, or just plain round. Made your hands look nice, not all sharp and…dangerous, like some of them gals today! Heard tell it makes older hands look younger too, which ain’t a bad thing, let me tell ya! Them 60s nail art retro styles, they knew what they were doin’.
I reckon some folks now still like that 60’s Nail Art Inspiration, tryin’ to bring back them old days. And why not, I say? It was a simpler time, and them nails, they reflected that. Not too flashy, not too crazy, just…nice. Easy on the eyes, ya know? And I hear tell you can find all sorts of stuff online, like on that… Pinter- somethin’ or other. And that eBay thing, too. Full of stuff, they say.
And talkin’ about colors, I heard some say if you got older hands, you should use certain colors. Like, if you’re kinda pale, maybe some coral or green or red. Makes your hands look… lively, I guess. Not all washed out and tired. And some say rose gold and blue works too, for day or night. Fancy, huh? But back then, it was mostly them light colors, like I said. Kept things simple and clean.
And let me tell ya, them gals, they didn’t just go get their nails done all the time like they do now. They did it themselves, mostly. Or maybe a friend did it for ‘em. It was a whole thing, ya know? A social event, almost. Gals gettin’ together, gossiping, and doin’ each other’s nails. It was fun, I tell ya, fun!
Now, I ain’t no expert on nails, mind you. Just tellin’ you what I remember, what I seen. Them 1960s nails, they were somethin’ special, and if you ask me, they still look pretty darn good today. Simple, elegant, and a little bit…fun. That’s what they were. And that’s what they still should be, I reckon. So if you’re lookin’ for some ideas, maybe try lookin’ up them old styles. You might just like what you see. And if you’re lookin’ for supplies, I hear you can get ‘em pretty much anywhere these days. Even on that internet thingamajig.
So there ya have it. My two cents on them 60s nails. Take it or leave it, it’s all the same to me. But I tell ya, there was somethin’ special about that time, somethin’ special about them nails. And maybe, just maybe, it’s somethin’ we could use a little bit more of today.
And remember, whether you’re just startin’ out or you’ve been doin’ nails for years, them 60s nail art looks are somethin’ anyone can try. So go on, have some fun! Paint them nails, make ‘em pretty. And who knows, maybe you’ll even start a new trend! Or at least, you’ll have some nice lookin’ hands.
And that’s all I got to say about that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about nails has made me hungry!
