Well, I tell you, these men, they always been a puzzle, ain’t they? Always runnin’ around, chasin’ after things. It’s like they got ants in their pants or somethin’. Makes a body wonder, why they like that? Why do men like to chase?
The Huntin’ Thing
I heard tell it’s somethin’ deep down inside ’em, like from way back when. You know, like them cavemen fellas. They was hunters, they say. Had to chase after their dinner, them woolly mammoths and such. Guess that huntin’ thing just stuck around, even now when they got grocery stores and all. They still wanna chase somethin’, even if it ain’t a mammoth. Maybe it’s a woman now, who knows?
The “Hard to Get” Game
And these young folks, they play games, ya know? This “chase” thing, it’s like a game to them. If somethin’ comes too easy, they don’t want it. They want it to be hard, like a puzzle. If a gal is all easy-peasy, they get bored. They want a challenge, somethin’ to work for. It’s like that fishin’ pole, you gotta wiggle it around to get the fish to bite. Same with men, I reckon.
- They want a challenge. Makes ’em feel good to win somethin’ hard.
- Maybe they ain’t so sure of themselves, ya see? They need a gal to chase ’em a bit, make ’em feel important.
- Some fellas, they just like the attention. Makes ’em feel all big and strong.
- And sometimes, it’s just about control. They want to be the boss of things, even in love.
The Mixed-Up Signals
And then you got these fellas, sendin’ you all mixed up. One day they all hot and bothered, next day they cold as a well digger’s backside in January. Keeps you guessin’, don’t it? Maybe that’s part of the chase too. Keepin’ you on your toes. Like a cat playin’ with a mouse, you know? Tossin’ it around, havin’ a good ol’ time. But a gal ain’t no mouse, I tell ya.
It Ain’t Always About You
Sometimes, it ain’t got nothin’ to do with the gal at all, ya know? Maybe that fella, he’s just got somethin’ to prove to himself. Like he needs to show he can get any gal he wants. Or maybe he’s just plain insecure, like he needs a woman to make him feel like a man. Heard some fellas say that having a woman by their side makes them feel less insecure.
That “Feelin’ Good” Thing
And then there’s that feelin’ good thing. When a man gets somethin’ he had to work for, it feels better, you know? Like bakin’ a pie from scratch instead of buyin’ one at the store. That chase, it makes the gettin’ sweeter. It’s like if they had to work hard to get ya, they think they have achieved something really hard to do. They want something they can’t get. That’s just the way it is.
The Competition
And don’t forget, these men, they like to compete. Even when it comes to women. They wanna be the best, the one who gets the gal. It’s like a contest, see? Who can be the biggest rooster in the henhouse. It’s like they are friendly contest with the other men. They been like that since way back when.
So, what’s a gal to do?
Well, I say, be yourself. Don’t play no games if you don’t want to. If a fella wants to chase, let him chase. But if he don’t appreciate a good woman when he sees one, then he ain’t worth the bother. You gotta be confident and independent. Don’t go chasin’ after him, he has to do the chasin’. And don’t be too clingy. And for goodness sake don’t be too easy! There’s plenty of fish in the sea, as they say. You just gotta find the right one, the one who appreciates you for who you are, not just for the chase.
So that’s the way I see it. Men like to chase for all sorts of reasons. Some good, some bad, some just plain silly. But that’s just the way they are, I reckon. And we women, well, we just gotta figure out how to deal with it, ain’t we?
