Okay, so, I bought this high-frequency thingy, you know, one of those wands that’s supposed to be good for your skin. I got it mostly because I wanted to see if it would help with my occasional breakouts, but also because I heard it could just, like, make your skin look better overall. The one I got came with a couple different glass attachments, and it turns out they’re filled with different gases. One’s got argon, which is supposed to be good for acne, and the other’s got neon, which is more for, I guess, anti-aging or something. It’s kind of confusing.
I started using the argon one first, the one with the violet glow. I would turn that thing on, hear the buzzing sound and then used the bulb to move on my face. It’s not painful, just a little tingly. I tried to use it every other day, focusing on the areas where I usually break out. I did that for, like, two weeks. Did I see a huge difference? Not really, but maybe my skin was a little less red? It’s hard to tell. I feel like I might have gotten fewer new zits, but that could just be me. It wasn’t a miracle worker, that’s for sure.
Then I switched to the neon attachment, which has this orange glow. I guess the idea is that it’s supposed to stimulate collagen or something, which is supposed to make your skin look younger. Honestly, I don’t really have a lot of wrinkles yet, so I wasn’t expecting much. I did the same thing as with the argon – used it every other day for about two weeks, just kind of moving it all over my face. I found that it is not really painful, but I would not say it is comfortable either. I’m not sure if I really saw a difference with this one. Maybe my skin looked a little brighter, but it wasn’t like I suddenly looked ten years younger or anything. I also try to combine it with my skincare, like my lotion, serums, and some mask, but I’m not sure if it’s just because of the high-frequency wand.
So, what’s the deal?
- Argon (violet): Supposedly good for acne. I used it for two weeks, and I might have seen a slight improvement.
- Neon (orange): Supposedly good for anti-aging. I also used it for two weeks, and I’m not sure I saw any real changes.
I guess it’s still too early to say if it’s doing anything. Or maybe I have to change the way I use it. I don’t know. But it’s been an interesting experiment, anyway. I’m going to keep using it for a while longer and see what happens. If you’ve tried one of these things, let me know what you think!
