Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this thing called Amazon Music Backstage. Sounds fancy, right? Like you’re gonna get some secret access to the stars or something. It’s not quite that exciting, but it’s still pretty cool.
First off, I got this email inviting me to join. Seemed legit, so I clicked through. It said something about getting to “influence the future” of Amazon Music. Who doesn’t want to feel important, you know?
Then, I went ahead and answered a bunch of questions. Pretty basic stuff, like how often I use Amazon Music, what I like about it, what I don’t like, that kind of thing. Felt like a survey, but a little more in-depth. I had to answer like, 5 or 6 of these, and then I submitted my answers.
After that, it’s like I got into this special club. They started sending me more emails about new features they’re working on. They even asked for my feedback on some prototype stuff. One of them was this new way to organize playlists that I thought was pretty neat.
- First, I received an invitation email.
- Then, I finished the basic questions.
- After that, I was granted access.
- Then, I received more new features.
- Finally, I gave them my advice.
I also got to try out a feature that wasn’t even released yet. I don’t think I’m supposed to talk too much about it, but let’s just say it has something to do with discovering new artists. It was buggy as hell, but hey, that’s why they’re asking for feedback, right?
It’s not like I’m suddenly best friends with the Amazon Music developers or anything, but it’s cool to feel like I’m at least a little bit involved in the process. I guess they actually do want to hear what regular users think, which is nice.
Anyway, if you use Amazon Music a lot, it might be worth checking out Backstage. It’s kind of like being a beta tester, but for music. And you never know, maybe your suggestions will actually end up in the app someday. Pretty cool, huh?
Oh, and just so you know, I use Amazon Music Unlimited. It’s pretty sweet because I can listen to pretty much any song I want, anytime, and there are no ads. Plus, I can download stuff for when I’m offline, like on a plane or something.
My advice for you guys:
This stuff is all about helping them make Amazon Music better, so if you’re into that, you should definitely sign up. And you just need to follow the instructions from the email, it is really easy for everyone.
