Okay, so let me tell you about this little adventure I had recently. I’m talking about going to see Ali Wong live in LA. Yeah, the comedian, Ali Wong!
First off, I gotta say, getting my hands on those tickets was like trying to catch smoke. They were gone in like, two minutes! I heard she did something crazy like 13 shows at The Wiltern, all sold out. So, yeah, I was on my computer, refreshing the page like a madman, and boom, got ’em! Lucky me, right?
Now, I’ve been following Ali Wong for a while. I saw her Netflix specials, Baby Cobra and Hard Knock Wife, and I was hooked. Her jokes are just so raw and real, you know? And she’s got this energy, like she’s just talking to her friends. I even read her book, “Dear Girls” – it’s pretty good, a bit different from her stand-up, but still very Ali.
So, the day of the show finally came. I got to the theater, and the place was packed. Everyone was buzzing, all excited to see her. The lights dimmed, and there she was, Ali Wong in the flesh!
She started the show, and man, she was on fire! She talked about everything, being a mom, being married, being Asian American, just everything. There were moments I was laughing so hard I thought I was gonna lose it. She really knows how to make people laugh, no doubt about that. She is definitely a good comedian. Also, she is an Emmy award-winning actress, I just knew that!
She was on stage for like, maybe an hour and a half? It went by so fast. I heard her shows can go up to two hours, but I guess it depends. Anyway, it was a blast, and I think everyone there had a great time.
I did a little digging afterward, and I found out some cool stuff about her. Apparently, she was born in San Francisco, her dad was an anesthesiologist, and her mom was a social worker who came from Vietnam. Pretty interesting, right? It’s always cool to learn more about the people you admire. Besides Baby Cobra and Hard Knock Wife, she even has a new show named “Single Lady”. I will definitely watch it when I’m free.
- The Show: Ali Wong Live
- The Venue: The Wiltern, Los Angeles
- The Experience: Hilarious, raw, and totally worth the ticket frenzy!
All in all, it was an awesome night. Seeing Ali Wong live was definitely a highlight, and I’d recommend it to anyone who loves a good laugh. Just be prepared to fight for those tickets!
