Well, well, if you’re like me, and you’ve got a soft spot for them Harry Potter films, then I reckon you’re mighty curious about where all them magical moments were filmed. Now, I ain’t no fancy scholar, but I’ll tell ya all about it in simple words, like how a proper old country lady would, just so ya get the picture clear. So, here we go, let’s talk about some of them places where “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” was filmed.
First off, let me tell ya, they didn’t just film all them scenes in one little corner of the world. Nah, they went all over the place! A lot of the action took place in good ol’ England, and a few places across Wales too. Now, you might be askin’, “Where exactly?” Well, lemme break it down for ya.
Dartford Crossing, over there in Kent, is where they filmed one of them big chase scenes with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. That’s the spot with them big ol’ bridges, like the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge. It’s right on the edge of the river, and it sure makes for a dramatic backdrop when the kids are running from all kinds of danger.
Then, they filmed at Pinewood Studios and Leavesden Warner Bros. Studios, which, I gotta say, is probably where they made all them fancy sets and did the magic tricks with the camera. I’m not exactly sure how it all works, but I do know that them places are where they put together all them special effects and created them sets we see on the big screen. If ya ever visit, I reckon you’ll feel like you walked straight into Hogwarts itself!
Now, they didn’t stop there, no sir. They took their filming crew over to Pembrokeshire, Wales. A real pretty spot that is! I reckon it’s the kind of place you’d love to take a nice, long walk in. You’d be forgiven if you thought you was in a magical land instead of just an old part of the world. It’s got them rolling hills and green fields, and I suppose that’s why they chose it for some of them outdoor scenes.
Next, we have Swinley Forest up in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s beautiful, but it’s also a bit eerie, especially if you’re walkin’ through them trees at night like them kids were! There’s a certain quiet about the place that gives it a mysterious feel, perfect for those creepy parts in the movie.
One of the most famous spots from the movie, though, has to be Malham Cove, right there in North Yorkshire. It’s a big ol’ rock formation that looks like something outta a fairy tale. I reckon it’s one of them places that makes you feel like you’re in another world. It’s where Harry and Hermione were seen standing, looking all serious like they’re about to make a big decision. I reckon if you ever go there, you might just feel a little bit of that magic in the air.
There’s also Freshwater West, which is a beach down in Wales. If you remember, that’s where them big emotional scenes with Harry and Hermione took place. I reckon the sea air must’ve given them some good inspiration, ‘cause it sure looked mighty beautiful and somber in the movie.
And don’t forget about Burnham Beeches. It’s another forest spot where they filmed some of them dark scenes in the story. You’d have to visit it yourself to understand just how it’s got that spooky, mysterious feel to it. You could almost imagine them Death Eaters flyin’ through them trees, just waiting to cause some trouble.
If you’re one of them folks who wants to follow in Harry’s footsteps, you can even visit Picket Post Close in Bracknell. That’s the place where Harry and the gang hid out for a while. It’s just a regular ol’ neighborhood, but knowing it was part of the movie sure makes it special, don’t it?
Now, if you’re a real Harry Potter fan, and I’m talkin’ about the kind who’d travel the world to find all them spots, you can’t leave out Loch Eilt in Lochailort. That’s the one that looks all mystical, with them waters so still you’d think magic’s just floatin’ on top. They filmed some of them sentimental moments there too, and let me tell ya, it’s a spot worth visiting if you want to feel a bit of the magic for yourself.
