Okay, so today I’m diving into the world of aquatic perfumes for women. I’ve always been intrigued by those fresh, clean scents that remind you of the ocean, so I decided to try making my own. I started by gathering some info online, just to get an idea of what I was getting into.
I found this one brand, PB ParfumsBelcam, that makes an “Aqua” Eau de Toilette. Seemed like a good starting point. I also read somewhere that things like ingredients, brand, how strong the scent is, and when you’d wear it are important to consider. There’s also this place called Le Parfumier that has a bunch of aquatic perfumes from big names like Giorgio Armani and Bvlgari. I guess these scents are popular because they’re light and breezy.
Armed with this basic knowledge, I started experimenting. First, I tried to figure out what kind of “aquatic” scent I wanted. Did I want something that smelled like a day at the beach, or more like a deep dive into the ocean? I decided to go for a light, fresh scent.
Mixing It Up
Next, I got some essential oils. I grabbed some citrusy ones like lemon and bergamot, because they seemed like they’d be refreshing. I also picked up some lavender and a bit of a sea salt scent just for fun. I used an old spray bottle that I cleaned out really well.
- First try: I mixed mostly lemon and bergamot with a little bit of lavender. It smelled okay, but it wasn’t quite “aquatic” enough.
- Second try: I added more of the sea salt scent and a tiny drop of something called “marine accord” that I found online. This one was better, it actually started to smell like the ocean!
- Third try: I played around with the ratios a bit more, adding a touch more citrus and less lavender. Finally, I felt like I’d nailed it!
It took a few tries, but I ended up with a perfume that I really like. It’s fresh, it’s clean, and it definitely reminds me of the sea. It’s not super strong, which is what I wanted, but it lasts for a good few hours. I’ve been wearing it almost every day, and I’ve even gotten a few compliments! It’s pretty cool to be able to say that I made it myself. I might even try making some other scents in the future. Who knew this could be so much fun?
Making a new scent is really hard. If you are a beginner like me, you will fail a lot. Just try again. Every time you fail, you will get closer to the final goal.
