Okay, so I’ve been eyeing this Alice + Olivia white skirt for a while now. I’m not gonna lie, their stuff is pricey, like, really pricey. But, I had a little birthday money burning a hole in my pocket, and I just couldn’t resist. I mean, a girl’s gotta treat herself sometimes, right?
First off, I hit up their website. It’s super fancy and pretty, but honestly, kind of overwhelming with all the options. I knew I wanted a white skirt, but they had, like, a million different styles. Minis, midis, maxis, you name it. I spent a good hour just browsing, adding things to my cart, then deleting them, then adding them back again. It was a whole process.
- Finally found the “Nilda Voluminous Skirt” in off-white, and it was love at first sight.
- It’s a midi length, which is perfect for me. Not too short, not too long.
- And the fabric! It looked so flowy and dreamy in the pictures.
But here’s the thing, it was still way more than I’d usually spend on a skirt. I mean, we’re talking designer prices here. I started doing some digging to see if it was even worth it. From what I found, people seem to be into this brand – apparently, celebrities like Meghan Markle and even Michelle Obama rock Alice + Olivia. That’s pretty cool, I guess.
I also read that their clothes are made from really good materials, like real wool and stuff, which is why they’re so expensive. I guess that makes sense. You’re paying for quality, not just the brand name. After like, a week of going back and forth, I finally just went for it. I figured, worst case scenario, I could always return it, right? They offer free returns, so that’s good.
When it finally arrived, I was so excited! I tore open the package like a kid on Christmas morning. And let me tell you, it was even more beautiful in person. The fabric was so soft and luxurious, and it fit like a glove. I felt like a million bucks wearing it.
I’ve already worn it out a few times, and I’ve gotten so many compliments. It’s definitely a statement piece. You can dress it up with heels and a nice top, or dress it down with sneakers and a t-shirt. It’s surprisingly versatile.
So, is it worth the splurge?
Honestly, it depends. If you have the money and you’re looking for a high-quality, unique piece, then yeah, I’d say go for it. But if you’re on a tight budget, there are definitely other places where you can find a cute white skirt for a lot less. For me, though, it was totally worth it. It’s become one of my favorite pieces in my closet, and I know I’ll be wearing it for years to come.
But, you know, I felt the happiness for like, a week, and then I had to check my bank account. Ouch. Worth it? Maybe. Will I be eating ramen for the next month? Also maybe. But hey, at least I’ll look good doing it, right?
