So, the other day I was totally sucked into this whole “Alice in Wonderland” vibe, right? I’ve always loved the story, and it got me thinking, “Wouldn’t it be cool to have a fragrance that captures that whimsical, dreamy essence?” I mean, who wouldn’t want to smell like a magical tea party, or a stroll through a talking flower garden?
First, I started by looking online, just to see what was already out there. I typed in “Alice in Wonderland perfume” on a few different websites. And let me tell you, there wasn’t much. I found some stuff that was “inspired by” the story, like lip balms and things for kids, but nothing that really felt like a grown-up, sophisticated scent. There were a bunch of ads, though, like one for JCPenney that popped up, but it didn’t really have what I was looking for.
Then I stumbled across this little tidbit about Kate Middleton, you know, the Princess of Wales? Apparently, she wore this niche perfume called White Gardenia Petals for her wedding. And the article I read said it was kind of an “Alice in Wonderland” type of scent – all floral and springtime-y. But guess what? It’s, like, impossible to find now! It sold out everywhere after she wore it. Talk about a bummer.
And get this, I saw some people on Reddit talking about Taylor Swift liking this Tom Ford perfume, Tobacco Vanille. They were saying it’s sweet and smoky, and kind of gave off an “Alice in Wonderland” vibe. But it didn’t seem quite right for what I had in mind.
So, feeling a bit discouraged, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I thought, “Why not try to create my own Alice in Wonderland fragrance?” It seemed like a fun little project, and I was excited to experiment with different scents and see what I could come up with.
I started gathering some essential oils that I thought would fit the theme. I picked up some rose, because of the Queen of Hearts’ rose garden, of course. Then I added some jasmine, because it has that sweet, intoxicating smell that I imagine the flowers in Wonderland would have. I also grabbed some chamomile and lavender, to give it that calming, dreamy quality. And for a little bit of that “mad tea party” vibe, I threw in some bergamot and black tea.
Next, I got a little carrier oil – I used almond oil because it’s light and doesn’t have a strong scent of its own. I also grabbed some small glass bottles to mix everything in. I didn’t have any fancy equipment or anything, just some measuring spoons and a little funnel.
The fun part began! I started experimenting with different combinations of the essential oils, adding a few drops of this and a few drops of that, until I got something that smelled just right. It took a few tries, and a lot of sniffing, but I finally created a blend that I really loved.
It’s hard to describe exactly what it smells like, but imagine a garden full of blooming roses and jasmine, with a hint of black tea and a touch of citrus. It’s sweet, but not too sweet, and it has this mysterious, magical quality that really does remind me of Alice in Wonderland.
The scent is not strong but soft, it reminds me of the magical world that I read when I was a little girl. I feel like I can enter that dreamy world when I smell this.
I’ve been wearing my homemade Alice in Wonderland fragrance for a few days now, and I have to say, I’m pretty obsessed with it. It’s like carrying a little piece of Wonderland with me wherever I go. And the best part is, it’s totally unique – no one else in the world has this exact scent!
So, if you’re looking for a fragrance that’s a little bit different, a little bit whimsical, and a whole lot of magical, I highly recommend trying to create your own. It’s a really fun and rewarding experience, and you might just end up with your new signature scent!
