So, the other day, I finally decided to dive into the “American Horror Story” universe. I’d heard a lot about it over the years, both good and bad. Some people said it had lost its touch, focusing more on shocking moments than a good story. Others swore by its earlier seasons, saying they were a perfect mix of horror and a solid plot. I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” I mean, I wasn’t expecting it to be the best series ever, but I was curious.
First, I started looking around for where I could watch it. I’m not really into collecting physical copies of shows, so I ruled out buying a box set right away. I figured I could find it streaming somewhere. After a bit of searching, I found a place to start watching online.
I kicked things off with the first season, “Murder House.” Honestly, it was pretty good! It had this creepy vibe and a storyline that kept me guessing. It wasn’t just about jump scares; there was actually a story there. Then I moved on to the second season, “Asylum.” Now, that one was even better! It was like a whole different level of messed up and intriguing at the same time. Some people online were saying it’s one of the best seasons, and I can see why.
- Watched “Murder House” – pretty good, creepy, interesting story.
- Watched “Asylum” – even better, very messed up and intriguing.
But Wait, There is More
Then I got to season 5, “Hotel.” And… well, it wasn’t as good as the first two, at least for me. I mean, it’s still AHS, so it’s not boring, but it just didn’t hook me the same way. I also checked out “1984” because I saw people comparing it to “Asylum.” It was a fun, kind of campy season, like a throwback to those old summer camp horror movies. It wasn’t scary, but it was entertaining in its own way.
I’ve still got a bunch of seasons to watch, like “Double Feature.” I’m almost done with it, and then I will start Season 11 when it is available. Also, I heard some mixed reviews about “American Horror Stories.” Some people say it’s a good spin-off, while others say it’s not as good as the main show. Season 2 of Stories is kind of interesting and spooky. I’ll probably give it a try after I’m done with the main series.
So, that’s where I’m at with my AHS journey. I went in with zero expectations, just wanting to see what all the fuss was about. I found some seasons I really liked, and some that were just okay. I guess it’s one of those things where everyone has their own favorites. I’ve also noticed people online debating which season is the best, and there’s no clear winner. It’s all about what you’re into, I guess.
Anyway, I’m going to keep watching and see what other crazy stuff this show has in store. I just wanted to share my experience so far, in case anyone else is thinking about starting “American Horror Story.” It’s a wild ride, that’s for sure!
