Well, lemme tell ya somethin’ ’bout this AHA vs PHA stuff. Heard some folks talkin’ ’bout it down at the market, and it got me thinkin’. These fancy words, they don’t mean much to me, but I figured I’d try to understand what all the fuss is about. Sounds like somethin’ for the young’uns with their fancy creams and lotions.
What’s This AHA and PHA Anyway?
Seems like they’re both somethin’ you put on your skin. Like a scrub, but not the kind you use with a brush. This is more like a… a potion, I guess. They say it makes your skin look better. Gets rid of the old, yucky stuff and makes it all shiny and new. I guess if you are worried about such things.
This AHA, they say it’s good for somethin’. I heard it comes from fruit. Imagine that, puttin’ fruit on your face! Back in my day, we just ate the fruit. But I guess it has its usage.
- This AHA, it works on the top of your skin.
- They say it gets rid of the dead skin.
- Makes your face smooth, like a baby’s bottom, I suppose.
Then there’s this PHA. It is similar to AHA, but not quite the same. Some smart folks say it’s better for people with, uh, delicate skin. You know, the kind that gets all red and blotchy easy. This PHA stuff, it’s supposed to be gentler. It does the same thing with the dead skin and all that. But it does not go so deep. It just stay on the top, they say.
Which One’s Better? AHA or PHA?
Well, that’s the million-dollar question, ain’t it? Seems like it depends on what your skin is like. If you got skin like an old shoe, maybe that AHA is what you need. But if your skin is all sensitive and gets mad easy, maybe that PHA is the way to go. This AHA is stronger, they say. So you cannot use it often, just two times in a week.
I reckon it’s like pickin’ which mule to plow the field with. You gotta choose the one that’s right for the job. If you just need some gentle exfoliation, go for PHA, they say. If you want to dig deeper, maybe AHA is what you are looking for. Of course, I am not the expert, just an old lady.
Me? I just use a little soap and water. Seems to work fine. But these young folks, they like their fancy stuff. This PHA, they say you can use it more often. Every day, even! Some say twice a day. Imagine that. So much time caring about your face.
More About AHA and PHA
They say there’s another one called BHA. Don’t ask me what that stands for. It’s all a bunch of letters to me. But this BHA, they say it goes deeper than the AHA. It’s for people with, uh, pimples and such. It’s for cleaning the dirt inside your skin, they say. This AHA, it just cleans the top. PHA, too. Just the top. But this BHA, it goes deeper. It is like a little soldier fighting the dirt.
This BHA is good for acne, I heard them say. You know, those red bumps teenagers get? This BHA helps with that, apparently. Makes sense, I guess. Gotta get that dirt out from under the skin somehow. I would not know. My acne days are long gone. Thank goodness.
- AHA is good for the top of your skin.
- PHA is also good for the top, but gentler.
- BHA goes deeper and is good for acne.
So there you have it. AHA, PHA, BHA. A whole bunch of letters that basically mean the same thing: they clean your skin. Just different ways of cleanin’, I guess. Some are strong, some are gentle. Some go deep, some stay on top.
I think it is all too much work. Wash your face, be done with it. That is what I say. But if you like to put all that stuff on your skin, more power to you. If it makes you happy, then go for it. Just be careful with those strong ones. Do not burn your face off.
I am too old for all this new-age stuff. I will stick to my soap. It has always worked for me. But I hope this helps you young folks figure out which one of those fancy acids to use. Just remember what I said: be careful, and do not forget to eat your fruit, too! It is good for you, inside and out.
