Now, my neighbor, she swears by that Elizabeth Arden. Says it’s the best. She’s got more money than sense, that one. Always buying fancy things. Me, I think this Aden makeup is just as good. Maybe even better. And it doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg. I got bills to pay, you know? Can’t be spending all my money on makeup.
But that Elizabeth Arden, they been around a long time. I remember my mama used to have a little jar of their cream. Smelled like roses. Said it kept her skin young. She did have nice skin, I’ll give her that. But I think sunshine and hard work does just as much good.
This Aden, it’s newer, I think. My granddaughter, she says it’s popular with the young folks. They like that it’s, what do they call it, “cruelty-free”? Means they don’t test it on animals. I like that. We got enough cruelty in the world without putting it on little bunnies, right?

They got this stuff called foundation, too. It’s like paint for your face. I tried some of that Aden foundation. It’s that fluid stuff. Smooths out all the wrinkles and spots. Makes you look ten years younger. Well, maybe five. Let’s not get carried away.
It’s real light, that Aden foundation. Don’t feel like you’re wearing a mask. Some of them foundations, they’re so thick, you feel like you can’t even breathe. But this one, it’s nice. You can still see your skin, but it just looks, you know, better.
My granddaughter, she says this Aden makeup is “high definition.” I don’t know what that means, but it sounds fancy. Maybe it means you can see every little pore. I hope not! I got enough of those already.

And they got this other stuff, primer. You put it on before the foundation. Makes it stick better, I guess. That Aden primer, it makes your skin real smooth, like a baby’s bottom. I don’t know if I need it, but my granddaughter, she says it’s important. So I use it. What’s the harm, right?
They got all kinds of other things, too. Powders for your eyebrows, blush for your cheeks, that liquid lipstick stuff. That liquid lipstick, it’s real popular now. They got all them colors. My granddaughter, she got a bright purple one. Looks like she kissed a grape. But she likes it. That’s all that matters. They say that it combines a vibrant and rich. I don’t know what that means but it sounds good.
So, if you’re looking for some new makeup, I say give that Aden makeup a try. It’s good stuff. It’s affordable. And it makes you feel pretty.
