You know what? This thing called ACOTAR, I heard my grandkids talking ’bout it the other day. They say it’s a book, a series of books, some fancy stuff with magic and all. And they showed me these pictures, they call it “acotar official art“. Oh boy, those pictures, they sure are somethin’.
They got all these drawings, you see. Pretty pictures, all colorful and shiny. They say it’s what the people in the book look like. One fella, they call him Rhysand, my granddaughter, she just loves him. Says he’s the most handsome man in the whole wide world. She showed me his picture. He’s got dark hair, like a crow, and blue eyes, real deep blue. I guess he’s somethin’ to look at, but I’ve seen better. She told me Rhysand was real old, over 500 years old! But he doesn’t look it.
And then there’s this girl, Feyre. She’s the main one, I reckon. They say she tells the story in the book, like she’s talkin’ to ya. I don’t know much ’bout that, but she’s got these pictures of her, too. She looks alright, I suppose. These young folks and their stories.
These pictures, they call ’em “fanart” sometimes. Means folks who like the book, they draw their own pictures. Some of ’em are real good, I gotta say. Better than the ones that are supposed to be “official”, I think. These fans draw all the characters, like this Rhysand and Feyre. It’s all over this thing called the internet.
- There is this book they call “A Court of Thorns and Roses Coloring Book.”
- They say it has the real pictures, the “acotar official art“.
- My grandkids, they got one of those.
- They color in it all the time. It’s full of all those characters.
I don’t get all the fuss, but the young’uns, they sure do love it. They spend hours lookin’ at these pictures. They even put ’em up on the wall, like posters. They got this one big picture, all fancy lookin’, they called it “Art Nouveau“. Don’t ask me what that means, but it’s got all these swirls and flowers and stuff. Looks kinda like that old wallpaper we used to have back in the day.
They say there’s a whole bunch of these pictures, all over the place. They find ’em on this thing called “Pinterest“. I think it’s like a board where you pin things, but it’s on the computer. And this other place, “DeviantArt“. Sounds kinda strange to me, but that’s where they find all these drawings.
This ACOTAR thing, it’s a big deal, I guess. There are all kind of arts about it. My grandkids, they’re always talkin’ ’bout it. They even got their friends in on it. They all sit around, lookin’ at these pictures and talkin’ ’bout the stories. They talk about the characters like they’re real people. They say those arts help them imagine the characters.
They say there are lots of books, too. Like five of ’em, I think. First three is about Feyre, and that girl speaks like she is talking to you. And the fifth one, that’s different. It’s like someone else is tellin’ the story, not Feyre. I don’t know why they changed it, but they did. These books are famous. They have been popular for nine years. Many people like to draw pictures for these books. They call these arts acotar fanart.
Well, I guess that’s all I know ’bout this ACOTAR and their “official art” stuff. It’s all a bit much for me, but the young folks, they sure do love it. Keeps ’em busy, I suppose. And those pictures, they are kinda pretty, I gotta admit. I still don’t understand why they like those pictures so much. But each to their own, as they say.
This whole ACOTAR world, it’s like a whole ‘nother place. With magic and these creatures called “Fae”, they say. And battles and wars and all sorts of things. The pictures show all that, too. All these people, flyin’ around and fightin’ and what not. It’s a lot to take in, I tell ya.
My grandkids talk about this place called “Prythian“. That’s where it all happens, they say. In this ACOTAR world. It’s a made-up place, of course. But they talk about it like it’s real. They have maps and everything.
I don’t know. Maybe I’ll try to read one of these books someday. See what all the fuss is about. But for now, I’m happy just lookin’ at the pictures with my grandkids. They sure do love their ACOTAR, that’s for sure.
