Well, let me tell ya, this whole “liver craving” thing, it’s somethin’ else. Folks get these urges, ya know? Like, all of a sudden, you just gotta have some liver. Ain’t no rhyme or reason to it, sometimes.
Now, some smarty-pants folks, they say it’s ’cause your body’s missin’ somethin’. Like, maybe you ain’t got enough iron. Yeah, that iron stuff, it’s important. Keeps your blood strong, they say. So, if you’re low on it, your body starts hollerin’ for liver. ‘Cause liver, well, it’s packed with that iron stuff.

But it ain’t just iron, mind you. Sometimes it’s other things. Like them… whatchamacallits… mag-nee-see-ums, and zinc, and all them other fancy names. Vitamins too! Like that vitamin D, the one you get from the sun. If you ain’t gettin’ enough, your body might just start yellin’ for liver. It’s like your body’s way of sayin’, “Hey! I need somethin’ here!”
Now, some folks, they crave sweets. Lord, do they crave sweets! Cakes and cookies and all that sugary stuff. But liver? That’s a whole different ball game. It ain’t sweet, that’s for sure. It’s got that… earthy taste. Some folks like it, some folks don’t. But when you’re cravin’ it, well, you just gotta have it.
So, what does it all mean? Why do we get these cravings? Well, like I said, it could be your body tellin’ ya somethin’. It could be sayin’, “I need more iron!” or “I need more vitamins!” Or maybe, just maybe, it’s just your body bein’… well, your body. Sometimes it just wants what it wants, ya know?
And speakin’ of cravings, there’s different kinds, I reckon. Some cravings, they’re in your belly. Your stomach’s grumbling, and you’re feelin’ empty. That’s a real hunger, a physical need. But then there’s other cravings, the ones that come from your… well, from your head, I guess. You ain’t really hungry, but you just feel like you need somethin’. Maybe you’re sad, maybe you’re bored, maybe you’re just… I dunno… feelin’ somethin’. And your body, it tells ya to eat. And sometimes, it tells ya to eat liver.
Now, if you’re gettin’ these liver cravings all the time, maybe you should go see a doctor. They can poke and prod ya, and figure out if you’re missin’ somethin’. Maybe they’ll tell ya to take some pills, maybe they’ll tell ya to eat more greens. Or maybe, just maybe, they’ll tell ya to eat more liver! Who knows?
And there’s them seasons too. Some folks say they crave different things at different times of the year. Like, maybe in the winter, when it’s cold and dark, you crave hearty foods, like liver. And then in the summer, when it’s hot and sunny, you crave lighter things, like salads. I don’t know about all that, but it sounds kinda right, I guess.
But one thing’s for sure, if you’re cravin’ liver, there’s probably a reason for it. Your body ain’t stupid, ya know. It’s tryin’ to tell ya somethin’. So, listen to it! And if that means eatin’ a big ol’ plate of liver and onions, well, then so be it. Just don’t forget the mashed potatoes and gravy! That’s what I always say.
And listen, sometimes, the best way to deal with a craving is to just… avoid it. Like, if you know you always crave sweets when you go to that bakery down the street, well, then don’t go to the bakery! Simple as that. Stay away from the places and things that trigger your cravings. That’s what them smart folks call “situation selection”. Fancy words for common sense, if you ask me.
So, there you have it. A whole bunch of talk about liver cravings. Hope it made some sense. Sometimes these things ain’t so easy to understand, but that’s life, ain’t it? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I feel a liver and onion sandwich comin’ on….
