Alright, let’s talk about this here thing, this “can you put an infrared sauna on carpet” thing. Folks are askin’ about it, so I reckon it’s somethin’ important.
Now, I ain’t no fancy scientist or nothin’, but I got some common sense. You put somethin’ hot on somethin’ that can catch fire, well, that just ain’t right, is it? Common sense, ya know! It’s like puttin’ a hot pan right on the tablecloth. Burn a hole right through, it will.
I heard some folks sayin’ carpet can trap heat and moisture. Well, that makes sense to me. You put a hot, sweaty glass on a table, it leaves a ring, don’t it? Same thing with a sauna, I reckon. All that heat and sweat gotta go somewhere, and if the carpet soaks it up…well, that just ain’t good.
- It can get all moldy and nasty.
- And the heat? Lordy, that’s scary. Fire hazard, they call it. Sounds about right.
But then, I also heard some other folks sayin’ you can put certain saunas on carpet. Special ones, I guess. They say these fancy saunas got somethin’ in ’em that keeps the heat from goin’ down. I don’t know about that. Sounds like a lot of hooey to me, but maybe it’s true. If you got one of them fancy ones, I guess you’re good to go. But me? I ain’t trustin’ it. Better safe than sorry, I always say.
So, if you ask me, should you put an infrared sauna on carpet? I’d say no. Absolutely not. Unless you got one of them special ones, and even then, I’d be careful. There’s plenty of other places you can put it. On the tile, maybe. Or that concrete stuff in the basement. Somethin’ that ain’t gonna catch fire, ya know?
Now, some folks are talkin’ about puttin’ these saunas all over the house, even in the bedroom! Can you imagine? A sauna in the bedroom! Sounds mighty convenient, I guess, but you still gotta be careful. Just because you can put it somewhere, doesn’t mean you should. You gotta think about the floorin’. Like I said, carpet ain’t good.
And think about this, too: a sauna is gonna get wet. All that steam and sweat. Where’s it gonna go? If it’s on carpet, it’s gonna soak right in. That ain’t good for the carpet, and it ain’t good for you. Mold and mildew, that’s what you’ll get. And nobody wants that, trust me.
So, what should you do? Well, if you really want a sauna, and you got carpet, you gotta do somethin’ about it. Maybe you can put down some tile, or that laminate stuff. Somethin’ that can handle the heat and the water. Or maybe you can find a different spot for the sauna. Maybe in the bathroom, or the basement. Just don’t put it on carpet. That’s my advice, anyway. Take it or leave it.
I ain’t tellin’ you what to do, mind you. It’s your house, your sauna, your carpet. But I’m just tellin’ you what I think. And I think puttin’ a sauna on carpet is a bad idea. A real bad idea. But hey, what do I know? I’m just an old woman, talkin’ common sense.
There is also the consideration of power source placement when figuring out where to install your sauna, ensure it has a safe place near an outlet not obstructed by carpet or anything else that might easily catch on fire. Safety First! It seems like a lot of trouble, but if you really want the fancy sauna then it has to be done right. Remember to clean up any water and keep the area well ventilated, I’ve heard that helps.
