Alright, let’s talk about this here Calpak Silver thing, whatever it is. Sounds fancy, like somethin’ them city folks would carry.
First off, I saw somethin’ about a “Jen Atkin Medium Checked Bag.” Now, I don’t know no Jen Atkin, but a bag’s a bag, right? This one, they say, got them “Hinomoto silent run double spinner wheels.” Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? But I reckon it means the wheels are good and quiet, won’t be clackin’ all over the place like my old grocery cart. And they say it “glides smoothly.” Well, I hope so! Nothin’ worse than luggin’ a heavy bag that fights ya every step of the way.
This bag, it’s got somethin’ called a “built-in TSA-approved lock.” Now, I ain’t never flown on no airplane, but I hear tell they got these folks that check your bags. So, I guess this lock means they can open it up without breakin’ it, if they need to poke around. That’s good, I suppose. Saves ya from buyin’ a new bag every time you travel.
Another thing they mentioned, this bag can get bigger, “expandable by two inches.” That’s handy, I tell ya. Like when you go to the store for bread and milk and come home with a whole cartload of stuff. You need that extra space. This bag, it gives it to ya. Good for bringin’ home them “extra souvenirs,” they say. Souvenirs, huh? Like them little knick-knacks they sell at the tourist traps? I got a whole shelf full of ’em, dust collectors, mostly.
- Now, there’s other bags too. They talk about some “Coolife Luggage,” a whole set of ’em. Five pieces! That’s a lot of bags. Don’t know what I’d do with that many. But they’re made of somethin’ called “PC+ABS.” Sounds like plastic to me. And they got spinner wheels too, just like that Jen Atkin bag.
- Then there’s this “DELSEY PARIS Helium Aero” bag. Ooh la la, sounds real fancy! It’s “hardside,” which means it’s probably tough, won’t get squished easy. And it’s got spinner wheels too, see? Seems like everybody’s usin’ spinner wheels these days. Must be somethin’ to ’em. Price is $159.99, they say. That’s a lot of money, could buy a whole lotta groceries with that.
- And a “Rockland London Hardside Spinner Wheel Luggage”. Sounds sturdy enough, but who needs all that fuss? A good ol’ burlap sack has served me just fine for years. But I guess if you’re fancy and flyin’ all over the place, maybe you need somethin’ a bit more… civilized.
They say these bags are “durable and versatile.” Well, durable means they last a long time, right? And versatile means you can use ’em for different things. That’s good, I reckon. Nobody wants a bag that falls apart after a few uses, or a bag that’s only good for one thing.
And then there’s this “CalPak Silver Lake” thing. It’s a “carry-on duffel bag,” they say. Now, a duffel bag, that’s somethin’ I know. Like a big sack you can throw over your shoulder. This one’s a bit bigger than the “Champ duffel bag,” whatever that is. Different design too. So, it’s a carry-on, huh? Means you can take it on the plane with ya, I guess. Don’t have to check it in with the other bags. That’s handy, saves you time and trouble.
So, all these bags, they got different names and different features, but they all seem to do the same thing: carry your stuff. And they all got wheels, mostly these “spinner” kind. Makes it easy to roll ’em around, I suppose. And they’re all about makin’ travelin’ easier, whether you’re goin’ across the country or just down the road to the Piggly Wiggly.
Now, me, I don’t need no fancy luggage. I got my trusty ol’ tote bag, and it’s served me well for years. But if I was gonna get one of these newfangled bags, I guess I’d want one that’s strong, easy to roll, and has plenty of room. And maybe one that don’t cost an arm and a leg. But that’s just me. You city folks, you got your own ways of doin’ things.
So, there you have it. My two cents on this here Calpak Silver and all them other bags. Hope it helps ya make up your mind, if you’re in the market for a new bag. And if not, well, at least you learned a little somethin’ today.
