Alright, let’s talk about this Juice Press stuff, you know, the kinda things them city folks drink. I heard it’s supposed to be healthy, all them fruits and vegetables squeezed together. But what’s really in it? Let’s see if we can figure it out, like how much sugar and all that good stuff.
First off, they got all sorts of different drinks, like smoothies and juices. I saw one called “Blue Magic” somethin’ or other. Sounded fancy, but it’s just a bunch of stuff mixed together, ya know? They say it’s got blueberries and whatnot. One of them little bottles, about this big, has got near 320 of them calorie things. That’s a lot, ain’t it? And they got another one, with blueberries again, but they call it “Blueberry Genius“. This one’s a bit lighter, ’bout 280 calories. Still, that’s more than a good ol’ piece of bread with butter, I reckon.
Then there’s this “Chia Seed Pudding.” Chia seeds, what are those even? Anyways, half a little container of that stuff is ’bout 220 calories. Seems like everything’s got a lot of calories these days. I remember when eatin’ good meant havin’ a big plate of potatoes and gravy. Now they got all these fancy names and tiny portions.
- They got this Blue Magic one, it’s got like 330 calories in a big bottle, the 16 ounce one. And it’s got carbs, 39 of ’em, and fat, 12 of them fat things. Too much fat ain’t good, I always say.
- Then there’s this Vanilla Protein smoothie. That one’s got even more, 380 calories in a big bottle. They say it’s got protein, but I don’t know what kind of protein it is. Back in my day, protein was a good piece of meat, not some fancy powder.
- And they got these green ones, “Green Light” they call it. That one ain’t so bad, only 110 calories in a big bottle. But it still got carbs, 24 of ’em.
- Oh, and this “Fountain of Youth” one. Sounds like somethin’ outta a fairy tale, don’t it? Well, that one’s got 61 carbs and a little bit of fat, 4.5 they say. That’s a lot of carbs, I tell ya.
Now, some folks say this juicin’ thing is good for ya. They say it keeps all the vitamins and good stuff from the fruits and vegetables. They don’t cook it, just squeeze it all out. Says you get a strong dose of them nutrients. Like that “Blueberry Genius” one, it’s got blueberries, vanilla, some kind of plant protein, chia seeds again, flaxseed, and almond stuff. They even put banana and dates in it, which I understand, but what’s almond extract? And they say it has 14g of protein. I guess that’s supposed to be good for ya.
They talk about fat too, you know, like 64g total fat and 9g saturated fat in a whole day’s worth of this stuff, they say it’s 1465 calories. I don’t know about all that. Seems like a lot of numbers to me. I just try to eat good, simple food. But I guess if you’re in a hurry and need somethin’ quick, maybe this juicin’ stuff is okay. Just gotta watch out for all them calories and sugar, I reckon.
But it makes you wonder, do you really need all these fancy drinks? Can’t you just eat a good apple or a carrot? Seems like they’re always tryin’ to sell us somethin’ new and expensive. I’m happy with my home-cooked food, myself. But hey, to each their own, I always say. Just don’t go thinkin’ this juice stuff is some kinda miracle cure. You gotta eat right and get some exercise too, you know.
So, that’s the lowdown on this Juice Press, as best as I can figure it. Lots of different kinds, lots of calories, and lots of fancy names. You make up your own mind about it. Me? I think I’ll stick to my good ol’ garden vegetables and a nice cup of tea.
