Listen up, I gotta tell ya somethin’ ’bout them Long Island wine country hotels. Now, I ain’t no fancy city slicker, but I know a thing or two ’bout findin’ a good place to rest your head, especially when you’re out there lookin’ at the grape vines.
So, Long Island, yeah, they got a bunch of them wine places. They call ’em vineyards, all fancy-like. And where there’s wine, there’s gotta be places to stay, right? Makes sense. You go out, taste some wine, you get tired, you need a bed. Simple as that.
Now, they say there’s a lotta them hotels out there, like, thousands of reviews and all. But who’s got time to read all that? I say, ask around. Talk to folks. See what they say. If a place is good, people will tell ya. If it’s bad, they’ll tell ya that too. Word gets around, you know?
Where the wine’s at
They got this place, North Fork, that’s where most of the grape growin’ happens. Somethin’ about that Peconic Bay keepin’ things nice for the grapes. I don’t know the details, somethin’ about weather and such. But they say the grapes like it there, so that’s where the wine’s at.
- 57 wine folks on Long Island! That’s a lot, ain’t it?
- They’re spread out, North Fork, South Fork, and some other place, Suffolk County.
- New York, yeah, they got wine. Didn’t know that, did ya?

Fancy digs or plain stay?
Some places, they got pools, spas, all that fancy stuff. You can get massages, facials, whatever. They treat you like a king or queen. But you’re gonna pay for it, that’s for sure. Them fancy places ain’t cheap.
Then you got your regular hotels, just a bed and a bathroom. Nothin’ fancy, but it’ll do. You’re just there to sleep, right? Why pay extra for all the bells and whistles?
But here’s the thing, you gotta book ahead. Especially if you’re goin’ durin’ them busy times. Everybody wants to go wine tastin’ when the weather’s nice, so them hotels fill up fast. Don’t wait till the last minute, or you might be sleepin’ in your car. And nobody wants that.
And while you’re there, don’t just stick to the wine. Eat some food! They got good food on Long Island. Fresh seafood, farm-to-table stuff, you name it. Fill your belly with good food and good wine, then go sleep in a comfy bed. That’s the life, ain’t it?
